Jimmy from Interstate Repairs; Knoxville, TN |
Happy Thursday, Everyone! Meet our new best friend Jimmy....the chief mechanic working on our transmission replacement. The old trans sits in the picture, along with Jimmy - who just pulled that poor baby out. He pointed out lots of nasty corrosion and gummy sludge where 'she blew.' Good riddance....
There has been a delay in getting the new transmission delivered, so we are here for another night. Again.....I am so happy to be plugged in that as long as we have power and a/c, the delay and inconvenience seems minor. Jimmy has even asked us to join he and the family for dinner this evenin' at one of their favorite restaurants by the lake - dutch treat, of course. We are looking forward to meeting his family and catching up on all the local Knoxville news!
In the meantime, Dick has been scrambling to recalculate our travel schedule. Since he built in a few extra travel days on the front end of our trip (good thinkin' honey).....we should still be able to make our reservation at the Grand Canyon by Tuesday. While we did not plan to 'sight see' in Knoxville....everyone sure has been friendly and accommodating here at Interstate Repairs. We hope to be able to depart tomorrow by noon.....God willing and the creek don't rise.
